Story in Wood: Marquetry Art of James Macdonald was a solo show at the Chocolate Church Arts Center in Bath Maine that ran from the beginning of August to the beginning of October. Related to that, I was also the subject of a feature in the Sunday edition of the Press Herald.
Jimmy Herring with the Capricorn Studios Tribute Guitar in Macon Georgia
In August we took a trip to Macon, Georgia to join in the celebration of life for my departed friend, Skoots Lyndon, who created a very cool chapter in my life in getting my Eat a Peach Tribute Guitar to be part of the permanent collection at the Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House. I took along my just completed Capricorn Studios Tribute Guitar which I dedicated to Skoots. The guitar features a marquetry reproduction of a very cool mural on the walls of Capricorn created by my Macon friend Michael Pierce, a really gifted artist.

A lot of good things happening! I’m still very interested in taking on commissions for my marquetry art guitars. Also I am creating furniture and art featuring my marquetry work. Talk to me in 2023!
